Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
ur.my is run by Surf Seven Network (200203092812 (PG0105691-M)), 55, Lengkok Segar Jaya, Taman Segar Jaya, 13400 Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you create an account on ur.my. If you do not agree with them, please do not create an account.
1. What ur.my is
ur.my lets you build simple websites for your business or yourself. Each site lives at its own address, such as yourname.ur.my, and you manage it from your dashboard at https://app.ur.my. Sites that are approved may also be listed in the ur.my directory.
ur.my is for businesses, organizations and people in Malaysia. A site must be for one that is based or operates in Malaysia; serving customers abroad as well is fine. We may refuse or take down a site that has nothing to do with Malaysia.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older, and the details you give us must be true.
- You sign up with your email address and a password, and you confirm the email address before you can use the dashboard. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done in your account.
- One account can hold several organizations (a business or a person), and each organization can hold several sites, up to the limits shown in your dashboard.
- An account belongs to one person. There are no shared logins.
3. Your site's name and address
- You choose a site's name and address when you create it. You can change the name later in your dashboard; the address cannot be changed.
- The address is part of ur.my, not a domain name. It belongs to ur.my, and you may use it for your site for as long as the site exists and is renewed. You cannot sell or transfer it.
- It works only for the site you build on ur.my. You cannot point it to another server or website, set up email on it (such as
[email protected]), or add DNS records to it. If you want an address you fully control, register a domain name of your own with a domain registrar. - Your own domain. On plans that include it, you can show your site at a domain name you own, such as
www.yourshop.com.my. You must own the domain or have the right to use it, and you keep it, and pay for it, where you registered it. We show your site there only while your plan includes it, and your ur.my address keeps working: it sends visitors to your domain, and becomes your site's address again if the domain is disconnected. What this section says about names and addresses applies to your domain too. - Some addresses are reserved and cannot be taken, for example ur.my's own names and names that could be used to mislead people.
- We have the final say on site names and addresses. Being accepted by our automated check, or by us, does not mean a name or address cannot be questioned later, by us or by anyone with a right to it. If we decide one is misleading or confusing, or has nothing to do with the business or person the site is for, we may refuse it, change the name, or take back the address. We tell you why; if you think we are wrong, write to [email protected].
- An address cannot be changed, so taking one back takes its site offline. Your content stays in your dashboard, and you can make a new site at another address. A name or address that uses someone else's name or trademark, or misleads people, breaks these terms: it counts as a strike and nothing is refunded. If you chose it in good faith and we take it back only because it is confusing or unrelated, it is not a strike, and we refund the unused part of what you paid, as our Refund Policy says.
- When a site is closed, its address is held for 60 days and then becomes free for anyone to take.
4. What you publish
- You are responsible for everything you publish: text, photos, prices, offers and contact details. It must be true, and you must have the right to use it.
- If you sell through your site, show your business name, registration number, contact details and full prices, as the Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transactions) Regulations 2012 require. What you sell, and your dealings with your customers, are between you and them.
- You keep ownership of your content. You allow us to store it, resize and convert your photos, and show it on your site, in the ur.my directory and to search engines, for as long as it is published.
- Every new or changed piece of content is checked: before it appears on your site or, for sites of verified organizations and sites on a paid plan, just after. The check is made by an automated service (Google Gemini); when it is unsure, we check it ourselves. We may refuse content and tell you why; refused content that has already appeared is taken down. Hiding or deleting your own content takes effect at once.
- If someone makes a claim against us because of what you published, or because you broke these terms, you cover what it costs us, including reasonable legal costs.
5. What is not allowed
You may not publish, or use ur.my for:
- adult or sexual content, sexual services, matchmaking or dating;
- gambling, betting and casinos;
- scams, fake schemes, get-rich-quick and pyramid schemes;
- drugs, weapons, and fake or counterfeit goods;
- hate or harassment against any person or group;
- other people's personal data, or their names, logos or photos without their permission;
- spam, or anything else that is illegal in Malaysia.
Anyone can report a site that breaks these rules, with the Report link at the bottom of every site and under every listing in the directory. We look at every report within 3 working days, and sooner when someone may be at risk.
6. Strikes and bans
- When content is refused for one of the reasons in section 5, or for spam, your account gets a strike. So does every time we take one of your sites offline for breaking these terms. Simple mistakes that you can fix are not strikes, and neither is a site going offline because it was not renewed.
- On the 4th strike, the account is banned: all its sites go offline, you can no longer sign in, and the email address cannot be used to sign up again. We keep the email address for that reason.
- We may take a site offline at once, without warning, if it puts people at risk or breaks the law. If you think we made a mistake, write to [email protected].
7. Visitors' enquiries and reviews
- Enquiries that visitors send through your site are delivered to your dashboard, and we email you that they have arrived. You may use a visitor's details only to reply to them, and you must look after them as the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 requires.
- Visitors can review your business. Reviews are checked like any other content. You cannot edit, hide or delete a review; we may hide one that breaks these terms.
8. Verified badge
A registered business can ask to be verified, free, by sending its SSM registration. It is checked first by an automated service, and by us when that is unsure; we may also look again later and withdraw a verification that was wrong. Once it is accepted, the organization gets a verified badge, its sites say "Owned by" its registered name, and they come first in the ur.my directory. Renaming the organization removes the badge until it is checked again. Asking with someone else's registration breaks these terms.
9. Fees
- Plans. Each site is on a plan, with its own price and limits, listed on our pricing page. The Starter plan is free, and new sites start on it. A site on it is extended once a year, at no cost, with one press in your dashboard (from 30 days before its year ends), so that no address is kept by a business that has closed. Paid plans are paid ahead for 1, 2 or 3 years at a time, and each site is paid for separately.
- Changing plan. You can move a site to a dearer plan at any time: it starts at once, and you pay the difference in price for the days left in what you have already paid for. A move to a cheaper plan starts the day after what you have paid for ends. A site over its plan's limits keeps all its content but shows only as much as the plan allows, in the order you set.
- You pay on HitPay's secure payment page, by FPX online banking, DuitNow QR, card or e-wallet. We never see or store your card or bank details. Nothing is charged automatically: you pay only when you choose to renew or change plan.
- Paying early adds the new years after the current one ends. Every payment gets a receipt by email.
- Changes to plans. We may change the price, limits and features of any plan at any time, the free plan included. A change never affects time you have already paid for or extended: your site keeps its price, limits and features until its next renewal or extension, and the new ones apply from then. A change in your favour, such as a higher limit, applies at once. Before you renew or extend, you see the plans as they are then on our pricing page and in your dashboard.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
10. If you do not renew
- We email you 30, 7 and 1 days before a site's paid or free time ends.
- A paid plan that is not renewed moves to the Starter plan the day after it ends, for 30 days. Content over that plan's limits is kept but not shown. Extend it before then to keep it for a year, free, or choose a paid plan again.
- A site that is not renewed, or on the free plan not extended, is suspended the day after its time ends: visitors see a notice that it is suspended. Its content is kept and your dashboard stays open, so you can still renew or extend it and bring it back at once. We email you that day, and 7 days and 1 day before it is deleted.
- If it is still not renewed 30 days after being suspended, the site is deleted with its content, and its address can be taken by anyone.
11. Closing a site or your account
You can close a site, or your whole account, at any time from your dashboard. Its content is deleted and cannot be brought back. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting.
12. Personal data and visit statistics
How we handle your personal data, and your visitors', is explained in our Privacy Policy. We count visits to your sites so you can see how they are doing. Visits are counted anonymously, without cookies, and the counts cannot be traced back to a visitor.
13. Our service
- We work to keep ur.my running and your content safe, but we cannot promise the service will never be interrupted or that content can never be lost. Keep your own copies of your photos and text.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we ever stop ur.my, we will give you at least 60 days' notice and refund the unused part of what you paid.
14. Our responsibility
- ur.my is provided as it is. We are not responsible for losses that come from using it or not being able to use it, such as lost sales, profits or data, or for what other people publish.
- If we are responsible for a loss, the most we will pay is what you paid us for ur.my in the 12 months before it happened, or RM100 if that is more.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you that cannot be taken away.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change matters, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using ur.my after that, the new terms apply.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia decide any dispute.
